We understand you value the privacy of your personal information. You have specific rights under various U.S. state privacy laws as described in our Privacy Statement. These rights include the ability to opt out of the “sharing”/“processing” of your personal information for purposes of online targeted advertising.
This page explains how to exercise these opt out rights. Information about exercising additional rights under state laws (e.g., access, correction, deletion) can be found in our Privacy Statement.
Opting Out of the Sharing/Processing of Personal Information for Online Targeted Advertising Purposes
As described in our Privacy Statement, Arity uses certain information we collect from and about you to facilitate online targeted advertising, build advertising models, and measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns for us and our advertiser partners.
When Arity uses this information to facilitate targeted advertising, this is considered “sharing” for “cross-context behavioral advertising” under California law or “processing” for “targeted advertising” under the privacy laws in other U.S. states. Some state laws may also consider online targeted advertising activities to be a “sale” of data as defined under their laws. Regardless of your state of residence, you may opt out of these activities by following the instructions below.
Cookie-based opt-out
You may opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information collected on our websites via cookies, pixels, and similar technologies for targeted (or cross context behavioral) advertising by clicking Cookie Settings and disabling targeting cookies. If you access our websites using a browser with a legally recognized opt out preference signal enabled, (e.g., Global Privacy Control), we will, where required by applicable law, recognize and process that GPC signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for that browser or device, and you will be automatically opted out from these activities for that browser or device only. If you clear your tracking history or use another browser or device, you will need to opt out again. You can also select “Your Privacy Choices” on our other digital properties to exercise your opt-out rights.
For more information about cookies, visit the “Cookies and other tracking technologies and settings” section of our Privacy Statement.
Non-Cookie-based opt-out
We also engage in targeted advertising activities subject to state opt out requirements that involve sharing personal information using identifiers other than cookies and pixels. For example, we may use information such as your email address or mobile device identifiers such as Mobile Advertising ID (“MAID”) to help deliver advertising to you on other websites, applications, or services. Because these identifiers are not tied to a single browser, this type of advertising may continue across different devices, browsers, or platforms. You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information used for these activities and, where applicable, to limit the use of your sensitive personal information. You may exercise your rights by:
- Completing our online webform. Using this webform is the only action necessary to opt out for users who can identify their MAID or whose data is linkable to a hashed email address or phone number in our database.
- For users who cannot identify their MAID or whose data is not linkable to a hashed email address or phone number in our database, you may opt out by installing the Digital Advertising Alliance’s (DAA) AppChoices tool on your mobile device. To do this, download the AppChoices app on your mobile device. Then, select “Interest-Based Advertising Choice” followed by “Device ID-Based Choices.” Lastly, select the “Send” option next to Arity’s logo under the “Status” column to complete your opt out submission. Visit the following link for more information about DAA’s AppChoices tool.
